Full inventory count audit coordination

Independent planning, floor observation, and exception documentation for your physical inventory stocktake.

Full inventory count audit coordination
On-site audit engagement 1–5 count days typical Hong Kong sites Day-rate + planning fee

Who this is for

Finance controllers, warehouse managers, and audit committees who need an independent team present while staff count stock — especially when external auditors will rely on the count for year-end evidence.

Result you can expect

A coordinated count day (or night) with clear cut-off instructions, observed procedures, a living exception log, and a short coordination memo describing what was witnessed, what was adjusted, and what remains open for management.

Scope included

  • Pre-count planning call covering sites, SKU volume, shift pattern, and cut-off
  • Written count instructions aligned to your stock listing method
  • On-site observers for agreed zones or full floor coverage
  • Real-time exception desk for recounts, damaged goods, and cut-off breaches
  • End-of-count debrief with operations and finance
  • Coordination memo suitable to share with your statutory auditors

Scope excluded

  • Performing the counts as your labour force (we observe and coordinate; your teams count)
  • Valuation, costing, or inventory write-down accounting entries
  • Guaranteeing a clean auditor opinion or replacing your statutory auditor
  • IT system configuration or barcode hardware supply

How the engagement runs

  1. Planning — We review last year’s issues, site maps, and your draft cut-off memo.
  2. Briefing — Floor captains and observers walk the layout before counting starts.
  3. Observation — We watch sampling, dual-control counts, and movement freezes as agreed.
  4. Exceptions — Recounts and cut-off items are logged before the listing is locked.
  5. Close — We issue the coordination memo within three business days of the final site day.

Duration and location

Most Hong Kong single-site retail or wholesale counts run one to two days. Multi-bay logistics sheds or multi-store networks may need a longer observer roster. Work is delivered on your premises across Hong Kong; planning meetings can be held at our Central office or on site.

Preparation we ask of you

  • Draft stock listing extract and location codes
  • Named floor captains per zone
  • Confirmed receiving/shipping freeze window
  • Access passes for observers and a quiet desk for the exception log

Pricing basis

Planning fee plus observer day-rates. Travel within Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories is included in standard day-rates; outlying islands are quoted separately. See Fees for indicative ranges.
